Featured Artist in Art Quilting Studio, Winter 2012

I'm ecstatic to be the featured artist in Art Quilting Studio, a publication by Stampington & Company. My interview and work is featured in the Artist Portfolio Department on pages 48-57. Amanda Crabtree, the Senior Managing Editor contacted me and asked if I would be interested in submitting my work. I mailed twenty original pieces which a committee reviewed. Rice Freeman-Zachery interviewed me for the article. Thankfully, she did a wonderful job of encouraging me to express my thoughts in a clear way, since I was a bit nervous about the process! I am very pleased with the photography and layout of the article and am very grateful and to be chosen in this way! Stampington's website is www.stampington.com and the Art Quilting Studio page can be found here. A page listing all their other publications can be found here. Barnes and Noble carry Art Quilting Studio, as do some of the craft stores like Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's.

500 Art Quilts

One of my pieces, Insight, is going to be published in the upcoming book, “500 Art Quilts”, An Inspiring Collection of Contemporary Work” published by Lark Books. See their website page for more details http://www.larkcrafts.com/500-series/
It was published in March 2010. It is a 432 page paperback. The book is considered a beautiful new addition to Lark Books "500 Series". The book presents 500 contemporary art quilts made in fabric and other media and shows diverse designs, materials and techniques. The works were juried by Karey Bresenham, a prominent figure in quilting and was written by Ray Hemachandra.
